Letter from the organisers
Dear NSPCC supporter
Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our Fair which raises thousands of pounds for vulnerable children and teenagers in Yorkshire and across the UK. We feel honoured to be the Chairs of this fantastic Committee of talented ladies who devote many hours of their free time to make this prestigious Charity Fair happen.
For many happy years we have been based at Castle Howard and have, in this time, raised in excess of £500,000 but now we are ready for a change and a new challenge and we are very excited to announce we will be moving the Fair to its new stately home, DUNCOMBE PARK.
Located near the beautiful Yorkshire village called Helmsley, Duncombe Park is very conveniently positioned. The house is very rarely open to the public so visitors to the Fair will have the unique opportunity to explore the amazing rooms and enjoy Christmas shopping at the same time. The exhibitors to the Fair are hand-picked by our Committee and are chosen because they offer original gifts that are unlikely to be found on our High Streets.
We open our doors on Thursday 17th November with a special preview evening with wine and canapes. On Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November, our doors will open from 9.30am and close at 4pm each day.
You can buy your tickets right here on our website and enjoy shopping whilst raising valuable money for the NSPCC.
It’s a win, win situation and an opportunity to get your Christmas shopping done in great style!
We hope you will come and join us.
Thank you for your support.
With many thanks and best wishes,
Karen Storey & Rachel Fraser

Duncombe Park Christmas Fair in aid of the NSPCC 2016
Bringing together a handpicked selection of exhibitors, The NSPCC Duncombe Park Christmas Fair offers discerning shoppers an exciting array of beautiful, unusual, and special gift ideas along with loads of lovely treats for the Christmas season.
With gifts for every age group and budget, we offer books, toys, jewellery, high quality clothing for all the family including luxury items such as cashmere, gorgeous home accessories as well as gifts for enthusiastic cooks and foodies, gardeners, golfers and sporting enthusiasts.
Everything sold raises vital funds for NSPCC projects, helping vulnerable young people in Yorkshire and beyond. This year is a special year for the NSPCC as we celebrate 30 years of ChildLine, the telephone helpline dedicated to giving confidential advice to vulnerable young people. Click Here for more information about the NSPCC’s vital work.
Around 70 carefully selected stalls provide gifts in all categories from Christmas decorations and cards, to kitchenware, toys, books, jewellery, fashion, homeware, interiors and gentlemen’s’ accessories. Half of the stalls for 2016 are first time exhibitors at the Christmas Fair and bring plenty of new ideas for shoppers, whilst the remaining best selling ranges return with the favourites we like to buy each year.
10% of each stall holders’ takings go direct to the charity as does income from ticket sales, sponsors and donations, and raffle tickets. Money raised at the Christmas Fair in aid of the NSPCC goes towards the NSPCC’s vital services for children, young people and families in the Yorkshire region.

Oliver Preston Cartoon Artist Lends His Support to The Christmas Fair at Duncombe Park In Aid of The NSPCC
The well known artist, Oliver Preston, has produced a humorous cartoon specially for the Christmas Fair at Duncombe Park in aid of The NSPCC. The one-off cartoon will be used for Christmas cards and postcards to be sold at the event and on-line in order to help raise further funds for this worthwhile cause. Oliver has used one of his original drawings and then incorporated aspects of The Christmas Fair into the design to include Christmas theming, sponsor logos and a funny strapline. He has then painted it and very generously donated use of the image to the charity for 2016 to celebrate the exciting move of Yorkshire’s most exclusive shopping event to Duncombe Park, near Helmsley, 17th – 19th November.
Oliver Preston’s humorous cartoons regularly appear in The Field Magazine and have also been published in Punch, The Beano, The Spectator and national newspapers such as The Daily Mail, The Times and The Guardian. He is also chairman of The Cartoon Museum in London.
Oliver Preston comments: “I am delighted to help the committee of the Duncombe Park Fair with a cartoon. I hope it will help attract more people to come and spend lots on amazing Christmas gifts and raise money for such a worthy cause. ”
With a keen eye for social observation, his cartoons are beautifully drawn with a very individual style. The situations are very close to people’s everyday lives, and there is often a splattering of languid lovelies, dilettantes and doting dogs. Oliver has developed a wide following, especially for his shooting and skiing cartoons, and drawings that depict the quirkiness of British town and country life. He has a new book out for this Christmas, Raise your Game, which is all things sporty for teenagers and those difficult man presents!
Last year The Christmas Fair raised £58,750 for the NSPCC. Tickets for the Thursday 17th November VIP preview evening from 5pm to 9pm are now selling on line for £15 tickets. Daytime tickets for Friday 18th and Saturday 19thNovember cost just £8 for the Fair open from 9.30am to 4pm if ordered via the website www.
